Blue Ray Recorders
The Facts About Blue Ray Recorders
The new blue ray recorders that are being launched by Panasonic, Pioneer, and many of the other large electronics companies will be compatible with the new dual layer discs and the existing recordable DVD formats. The new Panasonic will be able to record just under 5 hours of digital satellite high definition television when it is used with 50GB blue ray discs. These blue ray recorders are priced at around $2500.
Panasonic just release a blue ray recorder with a built in 1 terabyte hard drive. It is capable of recording 381 hours of full HD video. This new recorder is the biggest and most advanced of all the new recorders on the market.
Sony has also come up with several new models of BDR recorders which boast built in hard drives that can record HD video. The T-series, BDZ-T55, and the BDZ-T75 are Sony’s basic models with 320GB hard drives, BD live and memory card ports. Their L-series models have both 320 GB and 500 GB drives, and a HDV 1080i/DV input, and 2 USB sockets for connecting your digital cameras to. These new models from Sony will cost anywhere from $1000 to $3800.
Pioneer is also trying to get a piece of the rapidly growing blu ray electronics market. Pioneer and Sharp are working together to develop blue ray recorders before the end of the year. The selling price has not yet been determined, but they are hoping to have the recorders available for purchasing in Japan before the year is out, and then launching a follow up campaign overseas.
In 1997, the DVD made its debut, and it was a great success. In only a few short years, it had taken over the home movie market that had previously been owned by VHS. Several years later, Hollywood movie studios began using new formats for their movies, HD DVD, and Blu-ray. Both formats displayed movies in full high definition resolution, and both formats were amazing when they were shown with HDTV home theater systems. The war to take over the market was eventually won by blue ray after seven of the major Hollywood movie companies signed on exclusively with blue ray. The race is on for all of the major electronics companies to get their blue ray recorders onto the market, and into your homes.
Because the blue ray recorders are just now getting into the market, there aren’t many reviews to be read. We can most likely expect exceptional quality, especially for the price that you will be paying for your recorder. As the supply and demand and company competition for the new devices evens out, the prices should drop, and more people will be able to afford to buy them for their homes and submit reviews and opinions. |
